We had heard that the fish thali is good here so decided to give it a go. The ambience is nice, thatched hut look and the weather was great to be able to sit without air conditioning. Not much parking though for the rains.
We ordered pork chilly, fish thalis, mutton , naans and beer. Service was awfully slow. Despite few tables being occupied the staff would disappear for a while.
The pork was a disappointment as it was mostly fat and we had to fish for pork pieces. The fish thali was huge and generous. The vegetable in it should have been cooked Goan style but instead it was bland beans aloo. The fish curry was tasty but consisted of head and tail portions only. There was crab curry which was tasty. Teesri was delicious. Fried surmai was nicely done. Another fish curry which was tasteless. They should have put a prawn curry instead of 2 fish curries . The mutton preparation was good. Naan’s were tasty . And Bira is always good!
The desserts were great – chocolate mousse and wild berry cheesecake gelato was simply outstanding.
